Viva Le Seltzer

Viva Le Seltzer

During the pandemic I heard from a number of entrepreneurial individuals in different countries outside the U.S. seeking advice on launching new lines of seltzer drinks. I always wish them well but never know who is going to make it out of the gate. I was excited to see this morning on Instagram that the latest comes from a family in Montreal, aiming to be the next great Canadian seltzer: Le Seltzer!

Their first to the market products have some flavors you might expect – black cherry, orange vanilla – and then some surprises I am excited to taste for myself: ginger, yuzu blossom and pomelo. What is a Yuzu blossom???

Here’s their promotional copy from their web site (intentionally in all lower case – I guess that’s how they do it in Montreal…):

we are two brothers from montréal who are passionate about seltzer water.

we’ve always felt a connection to the history of seltzer – it resonates with our fourth generation eastern-european jewish montréal heritage. it’s our family’s drink of choice at the local deli, park, and on road trips.

when the pandemic hit, and we were no longer able to load up on our favourite seltzer across the border, we figured we’d have to launch our own brand!

our natural flavours are exciting, a little bit bold, but still classic (with just the right amount of carbonation).

le seltzer is 100% family owned, and made in montréal.

As with all creative explorations of seltzer, I wish them bonne chance.
