SeltzertopiaLive! Spritzes White Plains

This morning we set the clocks back, and traveled back in time, through nostalgia, and history, and more, at the Hebrew Institute of White Plains (a Modern Orthodox temple north of NYC founded in 1915).

They had a great make-you-own-egg-cream station, complete with pretzel sticks, and seltzer from the one-and-only Walter Backerman, seltzer-man extraordinaire (one of the benefits of talking around NYC – often Alex Gomberg or Walter is invited to cater- so I get fresh siphonated seltzer to drink while I speak!)

I hope the rabbi doesn’t see the contraption we made to project from my computer:

Fun WAS had by all:

  1. What an amazing program!!!
Who knew that seltzer could be so interesting and fun to hear about!!!
And thanks to you Barry….I am now addicted to egg creams. (or maybe no thanks!)

    1. What an uplifting, fun, nostalgic trip down memory lane back to a time when life was simpler, food was cooked with love and drinks were purer.
To hear the word Seltzer and see the bottle and drink the egg cream…..A multisensory delight!
      Thanks Barry ,Judy and Wendy!

  2. A very successful program …it was amazing to me how many people knew where they had their egg creams. Barry did a wonderful job presenting…I finally found out the difference between club soda and seltzer…today I bought 6 bottles of seltzer….albeit flavored!
