SeltzertopiaLive! in Florida with the Lions of Judah

I’ve always known about JFNA (The Jewish Federations of North America). They represents 147 Jewish Federations and over 300 Network communities, which raise and distribute more than $3 billion annually to support social welfare, social services and educational needs. Before I went to Ft. Myers last March for SeltzertopiaLive!, however, I had never heard of the Lions of Judah.

The Federation’s Lions of Judah describe themselves as “the most dynamic philanthropic Jewish women in the world. We are strong women of all ages, an international sisterhood of thousands of global activists who care deeply about the Jewish future… who demonstrate our dedication to the Jewish community by contributing of our time and resources.”

I met some Lions for the first time when I went to Ft. Myers because it turned out I was the featured speaker at their annual dinner honoring and thanking their local Lions. So along with my presentation, I had the pleasure of joining them at their cocktail hour (which, of course, featured a bartender mixing egg creams), meeting these engaging and inspiring women, and being treated to a fancy dinner!
